Membership

Membership of the Institute of Narrative Therapy is regulated so that the highest standards of practice, teaching and research are required to qualify people to join.

Associate Members

Associate Membership is available to people who have been awarded the Institute’s Diploma in Narrative Therapy and costs £10 per year.

Until November 30th 2011 application for Associate Membership via a grandparenting route is available.  Click here for application form.

Those who have undertaken other trainings of equivalent standard may apply for Associate Membership via an Accreditation of Prior Experience and Learning (APEL) route.  Click here for application form.

Associate Members are also required to:

  • Maintain an active therapeutic practice

  • Regularly receive supervision from others trained in narrative
    therapy

  • Regularly obtain feedback from clients about the effectiveness of
    their work

  • Demonstrate commitment to advance the evidence-base of their work

Executive Members

Executive members constitute the central committee which runs the Institute’s affairs. Such members are either inaugural, having co-founded the institute, or elected annually by the executive membership committee.  With the exception of the secretary, executive members must, as a minimum, meet the criteria for Associate Membership and have an active teaching practice.
